Kids snacking on cupcakes....
hung out with old friends(meaning known them forever), and finally met a facebook friend whose mom lives here and I've know forever! That is her miracle baby Henry in the picture! He is 2 months old and was born at 34 weeks among other complications. So he is God's miracle! And boy is he a precious little boy!
Please check out the link above on baby Henry as his Mama, Alyssa, is such a strong, loving, child of God. She is one of the most inspiring and faithful women I've ever met! I big puffy heart her!
Now, when the princess and I had to leave to go home about a block away I hit something in the road. I thought I just rubbed the curb as I sometimes do, but it completely tore a hold in the tire so that couldn't have been it. So, I pull over immediately.
Then I'm remembering the convo I had with my dear hubby last week.....
ME: So the tire iron and jack are underneath the back seat which now holds three carseats???
HIM: Yes. Why is that a problem?
ME: WHAT? Why do you think it's a problem? Probably because I will be the one in the car when a tire blows out. Then I'll have to remove all three children from said carseats and put them who knows where, then move incredibly frustrating tightly put in carseats, pull out the jack and tire iron, then re-install the carseats again. All while keeping a 5 yo, 3yo, and 18mo locked in the car somehow? You're kidding right? You really mean you have never thought of this?
HIM: Oh. Yeah. That makes sense, I guess.
ME: AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
So, of course we never got around to doing this. LUCKILY, by the grace of God, I only had one child with me, and at that, the easiest child to entertain in my opinion. Of course we don't have a flashlight either, so I pull out my handy iphone flashlight and start to figure out how to put this jack contraption together. It's not as easy in the older cars, which is what we have now. (blame Dave Ramsey!-Just kidding!!)
So then I realize that the tools I have are not working and call in the back up. Luckily we were only a few blocks away from where we had just left and some dear friends came to our rescue! He got the tire off and I had pulled out the spare only to find out that the spare was F.L.A.T! I'm not even sure how that happpens! Then plan B, one of the friends had a much newer Jeep than us and maybe her spare would fit ours.....No such luck. Discount Tire was closed. When I called the Walmart a couple of blocks away, I told them I was stranded and that I just needed my spare tire sealed so I could drive. And that someone would bring it up in a couple of minutes. Of course they said, " Sorry, we close in 20 minutes and there's no way we have time to do that". WHAT???? Who says that to a stranded woman. I'll never go to their service again, and hubby says he's calling the store manager tomorrow to sort out that rudeness. Men are funny, but I still agree!
So our friends loaded us up in one of the cars and brought me and princess home! Praise the LORD! God has blessed us with such a loving family including family friends that love and care for us. We love this extended family so much!
When I got inside, got Bubba and Princess to bed, I made myself this for dinner.....
Yes, it's a chocolate cake in a mug that I topped with peppermint ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles!
And I finished it off with one of these! A pomegranate martini. And yes that's a mini shaker made for one drink since my hubs doesn't drink them.
All in all a blessed and wonderful evening full of lots of love and laughter. After all, what is life without laughter.
