the Daily Grind
I realized that without meaning too, I've been on a blog fast lately.....so here is my recent day to day in pictures....hanging with my hubby, taking the kids to the park, general silliness, and of course getting a moments rest or a shower while the kids get "leapsterized". (not a real word, but I like it)

great start, great finish, the middle got a little mushy!
Tonight was a great night! It started like this......
Kids snacking on cupcakes....

hung out with old friends(meaning known them forever), and finally met a facebook friend whose mom lives here and I've know forever! That is her miracle baby Henry in the picture! He is 2 months old and was born at 34 weeks among other complications. So he is God's miracle! And boy is he a precious little boy!

Please check out the link above on baby Henry as his Mama, Alyssa, is such a strong, loving, child of God. She is one of the most inspiring and faithful women I've ever met! I big puffy heart her!
Now, when the princess and I had to leave to go home about a block away I hit something in the road. I thought I just rubbed the curb as I sometimes do, but it completely tore a hold in the tire so that couldn't have been it. So, I pull over immediately.
Then I'm remembering the convo I had with my dear hubby last week.....
ME: So the tire iron and jack are underneath the back seat which now holds three carseats???
HIM: Yes. Why is that a problem?
ME: WHAT? Why do you think it's a problem? Probably because I will be the one in the car when a tire blows out. Then I'll have to remove all three children from said carseats and put them who knows where, then move incredibly frustrating tightly put in carseats, pull out the jack and tire iron, then re-install the carseats again. All while keeping a 5 yo, 3yo, and 18mo locked in the car somehow? You're kidding right? You really mean you have never thought of this?
HIM: Oh. Yeah. That makes sense, I guess.
ME: AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
So, of course we never got around to doing this. LUCKILY, by the grace of God, I only had one child with me, and at that, the easiest child to entertain in my opinion. Of course we don't have a flashlight either, so I pull out my handy iphone flashlight and start to figure out how to put this jack contraption together. It's not as easy in the older cars, which is what we have now. (blame Dave Ramsey!-Just kidding!!)
So then I realize that the tools I have are not working and call in the back up. Luckily we were only a few blocks away from where we had just left and some dear friends came to our rescue! He got the tire off and I had pulled out the spare only to find out that the spare was F.L.A.T! I'm not even sure how that happpens! Then plan B, one of the friends had a much newer Jeep than us and maybe her spare would fit ours.....No such luck. Discount Tire was closed. When I called the Walmart a couple of blocks away, I told them I was stranded and that I just needed my spare tire sealed so I could drive. And that someone would bring it up in a couple of minutes. Of course they said, " Sorry, we close in 20 minutes and there's no way we have time to do that". WHAT???? Who says that to a stranded woman. I'll never go to their service again, and hubby says he's calling the store manager tomorrow to sort out that rudeness. Men are funny, but I still agree!
So our friends loaded us up in one of the cars and brought me and princess home! Praise the LORD! God has blessed us with such a loving family including family friends that love and care for us. We love this extended family so much!
When I got inside, got Bubba and Princess to bed, I made myself this for dinner.....

Yes, it's a chocolate cake in a mug that I topped with peppermint ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles!
And I finished it off with one of these! A pomegranate martini. And yes that's a mini shaker made for one drink since my hubs doesn't drink them.

All in all a blessed and wonderful evening full of lots of love and laughter. After all, what is life without laughter.

Not ME Monday!
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
This past week I definately did not stay up all night just so I could clean my kitchen in peace. Nope, not me. I didn't reorganize where the kids crafts go and the mail area in the middle of the night just so I didn't have to listen to whining....NOT ME! I love to multitask during the day cooking dinner, cleaning and maintaining the chaos all at one time- LOVE IT!
I most certainly did NOT get all of the kids piled into the jeep then for some reason throw my keys into the front seat and lock the doors. Because I'm a perfect mother and would never lock my kids into the car. Then of course I would never NOT have a spare key. And then of course my kids would not be freaking out and crying no matter how many funny faces and dancing I did outside the car. And then of course when the Firetruck and Firemen got there they of course were able to open the door before the Maintenance men at my apartments-NOT! And of course I didn't know that one of the abilities of Maintenance at your apartment is to open your locked car.....Now I do.
I also did not see my 5 year old newly potty trained son drop trow outside our apartments and go peepee. Nope! And then I did not hear from his teacher that he did the same thing on the playground at school! Nope, not my kid! My kids have perfect manners!
And most definatly did not get angry at my husband last night when while we were at Santa he told the kids that when we got home and after dinner we could make christmas sugar cookies! Nope, not me! And then we it actually came time to make them, and of course I MADE THEM, I didn't get frustrated at my husband again. Not because I was already exhausted and had a long day did I yell at my husband and then make him put our sugar filled green icing mouth stained kids to bed by himself.
NOPE, NOT ME! LOL!

a day in the life
Some people in life just always say the wrong thing....in my life....people usually say the wrong thing to me about Bubba. These people are either strangers or people who obviously don't know me or my son very well.
Every day is different with Bubba. The morning can be different from the afternoon and vice versa. We have to treat him differently than our other children. He is disciplined differently. Since he is almost 5 and I have a daughter that is typical and 3 1/2.....I can tell a lot of differences of how a typical 4 year old would be as opposed to how Bubba is.
Yes, if you just met him, he seems like a typical child. His speech is 2 years behind which you would notice. But other than that he seems sweet and energetic. This is true. He is ADHD, so he's VERY energetic. Most of his differences have to do with his behavior. He does what he wants when he wants. Time out doesn't work for him. Spanking doesn't work for him. Not a lot does work to correct his behavior. We do have a lot of "cool down" time, which could be considered time out. However he's just in his room alone. This works for him. To an observer he seems as though he's rambunctious, undisciplined, and ignorant. But that's just him.
I don't know everything about him. I don't know if he ignores what we say when we discipline, or if he forgets. I have no idea. There are no books written on my child. Each child with Autism is completely different from the next. So I always have no idea what each moment will be like. We have to be extra nice to him or if we want to go somewhere or do something and he may be into something else at the moment- then we have to tread lightly.....he doesn't like change. He doesn't do well with change. He likes doing things alone but is learning to play with some others.
All of that said.....I just want you to know that if you know me and you see me....my life is a constant state of frustration/anxiety/stress. So I know that it's not "pleasant" all the time, but it's me. Right now. That's who I am. At this moment.
We'll see what God has for the future.
At least I know I have hope in my future......Jeremiah 29:11
